On View
Not on viewThis work, from her series Am I What You’re Looking For?, focuses on the difficulties faced by young Black women as they transition from school to the corporate world. Much discussion between the subjects and the artist revolves around natural hairstyles. Beal has challenged viewers about their perception of the sitters, saying, “What if my subjects, Sabrina and Katrina, came into your office space and this is how they looked?”
