Label TextPamela Pecchio’s Habitation series explores domestic spaces, examining how we personalize a space or “make a house a home.” Her photographs document both our conscious efforts at interior decoration and the random, unintentional impact of daily wear and tear, capturing the cumulative effect of everyday life upon a space and the marks we leave behind. Verging on voyeurism, her images reveal the idiosyncrasies of personal taste, home décor, and treasured objects, causing the viewer to imagine who might live there, based on what seems valued and what has been ignored or discarded.
