On View
Not on view2nd Theme 6th Variation (Four Lascaux Grays) comes from a series of checkerboard paintings that explore color relationships. (Pearson named the panel for the colors used. Lascaux is a French brand name for an acrylic.) The shapes interact with an airtight exactitude. And the potency of color and syncopated rhythms are distinctively Pearson's. Like all of Pearson's work, the painting demonstrates his admirable consistencies: precision, elegance, and, for all the conceptual sophistication, an appealing humility.
