Not on viewNeckrests, or headrests, are objects carved in wood, upon which the head is placed when sleeping or resting. Typical of the Sepik River region were neckrests carved with birds with distinctive beaks, human figures in the squatting posture, and tendril ornaments resembling those used in Indonesian art.
