Barbara Hepworth

Studied Leeds School of Art; 1921-24, Royal Art College, London; 1924-25 studied under ARdim in Italy; 1930, married Ben Nicholson; 1931-36 belonged to Group 7 & 8; 1933-34, to Unit One; 1933-35 to Paris Abstraction-Creations; since 1935 lived in St. Ives, Cornwall; 1953 awarded 2nd prize for entry in Unknown Political Prisoner Monument Competition and also won Leeds Gold Medal for her BIOLITH.
