Not on viewIron is extremely difficult to forge, making the design elements achieved by this artist even more remarkable. Note the ways in which the Songye metalsmith has twisted the metal together in the interior of the axe. The open space weakens the physical strength of the blade, but this artistry creates a potent statement of power.
