Label TextUntitled #3001 and Untitled #3566 belong to a series by Jacobson that mark the artist’s departure from the somber monochromatic palette present in his earlier works. In rich shades of pink, cream, grey, and brown these works move back into the realm of color while capturing dreamy shots of New York’s urban landscapes. The distortion evokes an introspective view and personal identification by viewers—inviting them to draw symbolic meaning from the blurriness of the images on the haziness of life.
