Label TextIn his stark yet beautiful interiors, reminiscent of attics and other loft spaces, Jörg Lozek depicts individuals—usually solo young men—lounging amidst simple furnishings. His figures are passive in their pursuits, writing in journals, reading books, or simply dreaming, as in the painting Der Siebenschlafer. Caught between adolescence and early manhood, these figures lack the uncertainty of typical teen subjects; instead, they find respite and invigoration in their crumbling environments.
