On View
On viewThe constellations portrayed here had been named centuries before this globe was made, in diverse non-Western traditions, but the images here center European history instead, displaying constellation shapes and names taken from Greek myths and other Western traditions. This metaphorically places Europe at the center of world, and in turn, at the center of the universe.
